We only have beautiful words for Robin. When we got pregnant with our 4th baby we knew we wanted a home birth, and we wanted the whole experience to take place at home. Having the privilege of having our midwife coming to the warmth and privacy of our house for prenatal visits was amazing. Every time it was time for a check up our kids would get so excited to see Robin and experience all the beautiful experiences first hand. Robin is loving and respectful, she is incredibly professional and all her experience gave us so much peace of mind. We had the beautiful labor we dreamed guided by her wisdom and she took good care of us no only during labor but during the postpartum period. Our family love Robin and will recommended always. Robin of Multiple Blessings Childbirth Services came HIGHLY recommended by good friend. I am a postpartum nurse in the hospital setting and upon getting pregnant with my first baby, I was well educated and very aware of what I did and did not want for my birth experience! Well, by the time we were 30+ weeks pregnant, I had tried multiple other OB's and midwives and just hadn't found that perfect fit. However, immediately after meeting her, I knew I had to have Robin as my midwife! Not only is she such a funny and sweet person, but an incredibly knowledgable and adept practitioner. She is honest and thorough and an advocate for you, your baby and your birth. I wanted a natural birth without unnecessary intervention, but not at the expense of safety and with Robin as my midwife, I never had to worry! It is clear that safety and evidenced-based practice is her top priority! During my labor she was diligent and monitored/intervened when needed, but still respected my wishes and was so good at sensing my feelings and needs-I swear she has a sixth sense! She knew what I needed even when I didn’t! When I had a little mid-labor meltdown she was encouraging and calm. When I wanted to sit on the toilet to labor and be left alone, she let me have that space and was so respectful even when she had to monitor the baby or do other things! And somehow she just knew when I needed a kind hand on the shoulder or sip of water. I didn’t feel like I had a strange practitioner I didn't know at my delivery (a common feeling of so many Mom's at hospital deliveries!), but a wise and skilled close friend. Clearly, midwifery is not just a “job” for Robin, it is a mission and a calling. My husband and I have repeatedly said that choosing her to be our midwife (besides deciding to get married and have babies in the first place of course, hehe) was the best decision of our lives and we will most certainly have her by our sides whenever we decide to have baby #2!! Truly grateful for such a special birth experience, all thanks to Robin! :)

I am a well educated informed woman that works in the medical field as a geriatric nurse practitioner. When I got pregnant with my little Simone I started on the traditional route with an Obgyn. I quickly realized long waits and little interaction was not for me. This was my time as a woman to experience this journey with a provider that was going to make me empowered with knowledge and an advocate for me and my baby. That's when I met Robin. Robin is a true expert in her field. Her medical knowledge is that of an attending physician, her aurora is of a holistic provider with a no business attitude and never once did I feel unsafe or unsure with her as my midwife. I would not hesitate to give my highest recommendation to Robin. To any woman that is considering a natural childbirth with a midwife should have a sit down with Robin. I am so proud and blessed of my experience with Robin.

Robin Rabenschlag is my mother, and it's an absolute blessing to call her mine. I've never met anyone more motivating, encouraging and loving as her, and I'm not just saying that because I'm her daughter. She was my midwife/Mama for both my boys' pregnancies, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Not only did I feel safe with her, but I also loved the fact that we got to bond through this very special time. Prenatal appointments were always fun and exciting and the thought of my mom delivering her grandbabies was amazing! Unfortunately, due to some medical issues, I had to be transferred to a hospital to have my boys, but she NEVER left my side. She was with me the entire way and that in itself made it all better. I couldn't have done it without her help and support. She is 100% devoted to her job. And honestly, it's not just her job, it's her passion. It's her life. She is midwifery. She is all about helping women bring their babies into the world. And I couldn't be more proud of her. She is my biggest inspiration in life. Love you, Mama!

We were greatly surprised when we found ourselves expecting baby #2 six months after the birth of baby #1. Our experience with Robin with our firstborn was such that there wasn't any hesitation on our part- we picked up the phone and asked Robin when we could schedule our first prenatal appointment! Our second son arrived at 40.6 weeks, weighed 2 lbs. more than his older brother, and we had a few issues during the actual delivery. Nothing major, but just enough to make pushing very difficult. Looking back, Robin guided us through the last hour with praise, encouragement and instructions when necessary (I was a bit out of it by the end of labor). Our son was born very purple, and not breathing. The midwives told us to talk to him, had me continue to hold him, and kept him attached to the cord while they worked to get him breathing. Very quickly, he coughed, let out one little cry, then contentedly snuggled in. He turned pink rapidly and had no other issues. Something scary for us was handled immediately and professionally by Robin and the midwives. We have complete faith in Robin's knowledge and experiences! We are so grateful that Robin is our midwife- she is a part of our family. When we are ready for baby #3, we know who we will be calling.

Translation: I am a childbirth educator and doula. I had my first 2 children by cesarean deliveries, the first in Mexico, for medical necessity and the second in the U.S. only on the basis of the previous cesarean. During my third pregnancy, I knew that if I had my baby in the hospital it would end in another cesarean. Of course I did not want that, because of my work and what I've learned, I wanted the best for myself, but especially for my baby. I also longed to experience a natural labor and normal birth because it seemed essential to pass on my experience and training to couples in my classes to better empathize with women who need labor support. Natural childbirth was super important to me. A very good friend who was my doula recommended Robin. She contacted me and since we met, she gave me the confidence, support and understood my situation and my plans. Like a pro, she checked my medical history and it was great to know that everything was fine, no problem. Prenatal care at home, I loved it – it was super comfortable for me. When the big day arrived, Robin was always on the lookout for us, so patiently, without pressure, always checking that my baby was okay; but what I remember most is when she spoke and looked directly in my eyes to give me the strength and courage to complete and go on to achieve what we both wanted. She trusted me more than I myself, and after that everything happened as it I knew would and it was amazing. Robin and her team were and are key in my life, in my professional achievement but especially in my transformation as a woman and as a mother, and enjoy to my victory, my baby. Thanks Robin, may you keep helping many women and babies, not only to achieve healthier outcomes but also to achieve so many dreams.

What a blessing to have a midwife in the family! Robin is my mother-in-law! I have never been hospitalized (except for when I was born) and I have never had a broken bone or ever needed stiches. So, pregnancy was a scary thought for me because I knew I would have to been in a hospital with machines hooked up to me and I thought! I was so excited to find out that I had other options! Robin was my midwife, of course. It was so convenient to have all of my prenatal appointments in the comfort of my own home and scheduled around my work schedule. We even got to hear the baby’s heartbeat for the first time on Christmas Eve! So special. I had a beautiful, intimate and peaceful homebirth. Robin and her team were on point! Even with my baby coming 3 weeks early and before my husband and I had a chance to gather our birth supplies (Oops! I know better for next time!), they never missed a beat. I love my birth experience and I will be planning a second homebirth with Robin and her team for next time around (whenever that day may be). Thank you Robin for your care and expertise and for helping me have the birth that I wanted! Love you!

When I was pregnant with my third child I knew I wanted something different than the two hospital births I had previously had. At the begining of my pregnancy my younger sister was at the end of her's. After witnessing her harsh treatment in the hospital and subsequent emergancy c-section after 32 hours of labor, almost all of on her back(and stuck at 9 1/2 cm) I resolved to find a midwife. Robin was my safe haven. Her and her students taught me so much about pregnancy and how to have a healthy safe one. If you would like to read my full birth story, please visit

When I first suggested to my husband that we do a home birth, he thought me insane. His experiences with his siblings were all hospital births, several with Cesarean sections. When he agreed to meet with midwives to get more information, Robin came highly recommended from several friends. After our "interview" with Robin, my husband turned to me and said, "Okay. She's the midwife we are going with." Robin was the first and only midwife we spoke to! She is amazing- educated, experienced, compassionate, and with a practical, straightforward attitude that we both found reassuring. Above all, she has an incredible love for midwifery and those families with whom she works. Any question or concern we had she addressed; my personal fears towards the end of pregnancy were soothed by her answers. When my pre-labor started- four days before Luke was born, and me completely unaware of what was happening- she and Jean came to my house at 10 pm to check and see what was happening. Robin told me what to look out for, and contacted me several times each of the following days to make sure I was all right. When my labor began early Sunday morning, I didn't panic. I felt confident and excited; I knew I had the best support only a phone call away. I called Robin , and we hit a small snag. Another of Robin's ladies was in labor, too! As it turned out, Joi, Janet, and Julie helped me to deliver Luke: 37.5 weeks, 8 lbs,and perfectly healthy! There were no complications for me or Luke, and I am glad that my first birth experience was positive. Although much of labor is blurred, my clearest memories are the phone calls from Robin. Even from another birth, she cared enough to check on me several times, and express her love and encouragement. She came the next night to do an exam and told us that she had never had two women go into labor at the same time. We were disappointed that Robin wasn't at Luke's birth, but we are grateful that she works with other wonderful midwives. When people ask us about the pregnancy, we rave about Robin. When we are ready to have more children, Robin will be who we call. We can feel the love she has for us, and it is returned! Thank you so much! Brittany, Rodney, & Luke.

It is hard for me to put into words how much Robin means to me and our family. We hired her to be our midwife with just one recommendation, and after one interview with her at our home. She appeared to be detail oriented, experienced, and well-trained. I admired that she was educated in Germany, because my mom had a midwife from Holland, and she said the training they have in Europe is so much better, and the birth she had with that midwife was the best of her five births (and five midwives). I also appreciated that Robin had deep background in the many settings: hospital/medical, home, birth center, and also academic (she teaches anatomy and physiology at St. Philips College). At our initial interview, she seemed serious and professional. I figured as long as she knew what she was doing, I could live without her having a more bouncy personality. It's funny to me now, because now what I cherish even more than her expertise, is her kind heart. I feel more like her daughter than her client, and will certainly cry when our last postpartum appointment arrives. After my son was born (10 lbs 4 oz, my first), I had a bad tear from him sticking his elbow out as he emerged, and ended up losing quite a bit of blood from the tear. I nearly passed out twice, and Robin used many tools in her bag, including lots of herbs, pit, methergine, oxygen, and IV fluids to stabilize me, which took about an hour. That whole time, I was never afraid, because I knew I was in the best hands. She did an amazing job stitching my tear, and we have been recovering well. Also, I'm pretty "crunchy" as they go, and I had insisted on minimal medical intervention during the pregnancy. For example, I didn't have a sonogram, and I had Robin use a fetoscope instead of a doppler. (We used the doppler once during pregnancy to double check the location of the placenta to be sure it was in a safe spot, and also used it during labor since the fetoscope is too cumbersome at that point). I asked her to use herbs and non-medical "tools" during our pregnancy and labor, before resorting to medical options. That meant, when she used a medical option (such as pit and methergine when I was bleeding from the tear), I knew it was necessary. I was confident I could trust her judgement, and grateful that she had those resources available, since some midwives don't carry things like IV fluids or catheters. I personally wanted to know those things would be used only if needed, but that they would be available. I'm a birth photographer, so I've seen several births where tools were needed beyond herbs and oxygen, so I wanted to know I had a midwife who had the skill to use them appropriately, not overdoing it (like the hospital) and also not being without them. Also, I'm a pretty educated, inquisitive person. I came to our prenatal appointments with a list of questions, and she always had intelligent, knowledgeable answers. She really "knows her stuff" as they say. She never balked at my questions, but always answered me thoroughly and with the detail that is important to me. Throughout the pregnancy, she continued to earn my trust with her skill, and also gradually won my heart with her care and wisdom. As we got to know each other, I felt more connected to her on a personal level, not just a provider/client level, which is really important to me. I think it is also important to know and respect a midwife's backup, since you'll have at least one other midwife present at your birth. Joi Brock was the second midwife Robin brought to my labor, and she and Robin really compliment each other well. I couldn't have asked for a better birth team. Although I'm not terribly thrilled about going through labor again sometime in the future when we have more children, I can't wait to see Robin again and journey through another beautiful pregnancy and delivery with her support.

Robin is one of my instructors in the ATM Midwifery Program. I only wish I would have had the opportunity to have her as my midwife during the birth of my children as well. As a teacher she not only gave us her knowledge and patience (lots of patience) but her wisdom as well. She is one of the busiest women I know of, and yet she spent over an hour with me on the phone, helping me emotionally work through a challenging birth situation early in my apprenticeship. She guided me in understanding exactly what had happened and not only helped me to heal from it, but used it as a teaching tool to expand my understanding of anatomy and physiology. Just from my short interactions with her during the A&P module and that conversation, I feel bonded with her and she probably has NO IDEA! haha. Anyone who has had the opportunity to cross paths with her as a midwife, teacher, mentor, or friend is surely blessed indeed.

Although I wanted a home birth, I don't know if I would have been comfortable going for it if I hadn't found Robin. It was important for me to feel that I was in the most competent hands. Robin has vast experience and is very academic as well. The fun began during our pre-natal visits at our home. I can't describe how comfortable, convenient and precious these times were. No waiting in an office and my son was always welcomed to take part. Each visit I would ask questions and Robins depth of knowledge and ability to share with me and teach seemed effortless. I learned so much from her, and though the information was so logical , I had not acquired it through all my reading. Robin was also the only midwife I'd found who was able to incorporate our choice of antibiotic treatment during early labor for my GBS+ status. We felt completely cared for and in the best hands during our labour. I think her eyes lit up as much as ours when we met our baby girl for the first time. Robin has a passion for pregnancy and birth, but also for babies :) I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to my friends and family. Robin, we can't thank you enough for the wonderful part you took in our lives and for all the long hours you give, in order to share your gift with so many families. Thank you again for caring for us during our home birth and making it possible for us! Much love, Maya, Carter, Jeremy & Jennifer

After meeting many of the midwives in the area, I knew Robin would be the right fit for my homebirth. She gave me and my husband the space we wanted during the labor and knew just what to say and do when we needed her. Her instincts and knowledge were right on with the birth of our little one! We are truly blessed to have her in our lives.

Rachel said on Mar 9, 2012 3:21 AM

We chose Robin as our midwife initially because of her experience, professionalism, and dedication to continuing education. Over time we came to appreciate the wonderful way in which she incorporated our children into the prenatal appointments. She took their many questions and quirky comments in stride, and truly enjoyed them. We all looked forward to her visits with us. Robin also took the time to really get to know our family and preferances. When it was time for the big birthday party, she seamlessly incorporated her skills while providing me the space and calm I needed to labor and birth our baby peacefully. We hired Robin for her skills, but she has found a place in our hearts. Thank you for the work you do, Robin! We wish you many, many more healthy babies and happy families in your future! Rachel, Jonathan, and the crew

Wonderful experience with Robin at my at home birth. Being that it was my first pregnancy, I had many worries of the unknown but with Robin's help, I delivered a beautiful, healthy baby girl just as I wanted. I plan to have Robin deliver all my children if we're so blessed. Incredible experience!

I have doubts that anyone else could have gotten me through my labors with as much (relative) ease that Robin did. With her help I was able to have two beautiful, healthy children, one at the birth center and one at home. She had faith in me when even I didn't and I will always hold her in my heart! Thank you so much for everything you have done for me.
